Claude Code + MCP Makes Clay Obsolete
How can this screenshot of a boring command line prompt and results be the biggest risk to Clay’s recent $5B valuation news? It makes everything Clay does obsolete overnight.
This is Claude Code executing GTM prompts. Huge, elaborate, point-and-click automation platforms, their long training curves, classes, and certifications are no longer needed.
Figuring out hard API integrations? Redundant. Fighting error codes or reading convoluted integration docs? AI does this for you.
A simple conversation about the task is all there is to it.
What Happened
I just asked Claude Code to read an existing client list, segment it, and show me the top 3 segments with 3 examples each, and gave it the file name to use.
Claude did the rest. It loaded the file, connected to the DiscoLike MCP, understood all the skills it has, picked the right one, sent the data, got the results, selected the subset I asked for, and displayed it.
It even suggested the next step: extend each segment with lookalikes.
One more sentence: extend it, build me a list of 1K accounts for each segment, mid to small businesses in the US, as this client wants to expand from the EU to the US.
Then I ask it to find the right contacts, prep the outreach email, and send it out. Yes, I need to connect the MCP of one of the outbound providers, but that’s a Google auth dialog click that Claude pops up for me.
Zero Training Curve
My Claude training time? Less than typing this post. Practically nothing. To be honest, I have no idea how the magic happens.
And this is what makes Claude and MCPs the biggest competition to all the established players — users don’t care about how. They only want results.
